Our current Project - Super Kids Africa Kakogoo School
Kakuguu, a remote village located in Katsee, Mwingi North, Kitui County, Kenya, is a community drowning in despair. The children here are trapped in a cycle of unimaginable hardship—forced to trek grueling miles through barren lands just to attend school, if they can afford it. Many are living in extreme poverty, with their families unable to pay the simplest school fees. The area is ravaged by prolonged droughts, food insecurity, and a lack of basic infrastructure—there is no electricity, no water, and no hope of a better tomorrow.
The vulnerable children of Kakuguu bear the brunt of these overwhelming challenges. Many are orphaned or abandoned, raised by grandmothers due to early pregnancies and the tragic consequences of absent parents. These children face daily struggles that strip them of their dignity and future. With no support systems, they are vulnerable to dropping out of school, becoming prey to the harsh realities of early marriages, substance abuse, and other destructive behaviors. Missing school is a heartbreaking norm for many, with no one to guide them toward a brighter future.
Why Super Kids Africa is focused on Kakuguu School:
- Bringing Education Closer to Desperate Children:
Our mission is to end the relentless journey children must make to get an education. By establishing a school within their reach, we are alleviating the physical and emotional burdens that prevent these children from learning and thriving. Education is not just a right; it is their lifeline. - Empowering Vulnerable Children to Break Free from Poverty:
This school will be more than just a place to learn—it will be a sanctuary for the most vulnerable children. Our focus will be on providing emotional, social, and academic support to children who have been abandoned, neglected, and pushed to the margins of society. By addressing their needs holistically, we aim to help them break the suffocating grip of poverty. - Creating Pathways for a Brighter, Hopeful Future:
Education is the key to unlocking the potential of these children. Our goal is to give them the tools and confidence to rise above their circumstances, empowering them to pursue a future where they can escape the cycle of poverty, contribute meaningfully to their community, and build a life full of opportunity and hope.
- Breaking the Chains of Poverty in a Forgotten Community:
We are committed to bringing education to Kakuguu to shatter the poverty cycle that has plagued this community for generations. Through education, we will nurture resilient, self-sufficient individuals who will be able to sustain their livelihoods, support their families, and uplift their community as a whole. - Achieving Sustainable Development for a Forgotten Region:
Super Kids Africa Kakuguu School is dedicated to contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically in the areas of quality education, gender equality, and improving the well-being of vulnerable children. Our work in Kakuguu is part of a broader mission to create lasting, positive change in rural Kenya.

Project Goal and Objectives
Goal: The Super Kids Africa Kakuguu School project seeks to close the educational gap between rural and urban areas in Kenya. The first phase of the project will focus on establishing a school in Kakuguu, Kitui County, providing vulnerable children with access to quality education. This initiative aims to address key challenges faced by the Kakuguu community, such as poverty, long distances to schools, and inadequate infrastructure.
Key Objectives:
- Construct an 8-Unit Classroom Block with ICT, Library, Kitchen, and Boarding Facilities:
Build a modern 8-unit classroom block, equipped with ICT facilities, a library, a kitchen, and boarding accommodations to provide a holistic learning environment for children. - Drill a Borehole for Clean Water:
Drill a borehole to ensure sustainable access to clean water, improving hygiene, health, and supporting better focus on learning. - Empower the Community for Long-Term Sustainability:
Provide the Kakuguu community with the tools and skills to achieve self-sufficiency, while also working toward solar power installation and access to electricity to support the school’s operations.

SCHOOL UPDATES AND PROGRESS
Our Achievements
- Land Acquisition:
We successfully acquired 2 acres of land, providing a solid and secure foundation for the future growth and development of the Super Kids Africa Kakuguu School. - Classroom Construction:
We have constructed 4 fully equipped classrooms, each furnished with chairs, creating a safe and conducive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally. - School Uniforms and Signage:
We designed and distributed school uniforms to the children, fostering a sense of unity, pride, and belonging. Additionally, we installed a school signpost to clearly establish our presence and identity within the community. - Caregiver Empowerment:
We have empowered caregivers by providing them with training and resources to become responsible and capable individuals who actively contribute to the well-being and development of the children. - Feeding Program:
Thanks to the generous support of Precious Brock, we provide a daily feeding program, ensuring our students are nourished with nutritious meals, including lunch and tea breaks, helping them stay energized and focused on their education. - Teacher Support:
We have allocated allowances for 6 dedicated teachers to ensure they are well-supported and motivated to deliver high-quality education. However, we are actively seeking additional funding to transition these allowances into full salaries, providing our teachers and staff with more sustainable financial support. - School Fencing:
We have constructed a secure wire mesh fence around the school, ensuring the safety and protection of both our students and school property. - School Toilets:
We have built 6 toilets, ensuring that both girls and boys have access to clean and safe facilities, contributing to the overall hygiene and well-being of our students.
Our Current Needs
- Additional Classrooms:
We need more classrooms to accommodate the growing number of students and ensure that each child has the space needed for an effective learning experience. - Electricity or Solar Power:
Access to reliable electricity or solar power is essential for the proper functioning of the school, particularly for lighting, ICT equipment, and other essential activities. This will create a better environment for both students and teachers. - Water Borehole:
Access to clean and reliable water is essential for the health and well-being of our students and staff. A water borehole will provide us with a sustainable water source for drinking, sanitation, and other needs. - Kitchen:
We require a fully equipped kitchen to expand our feeding program, ensuring that we can prepare nutritious meals for all students. - Administration Block:
An administration block is needed to provide dedicated office space for school management and staff, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the school. - ICT Center:
We seek to establish an ICT center to introduce students to technology and enhance their learning experience, equipping them with valuable digital skills for the future. - Boarding Facility:
We aim to build a boarding facility to support children who live far from the school, allowing them to stay in a safe, caring environment while pursuing their education. - Community Dispensary:
We need a community dispensary to provide basic healthcare services to our students, staff, and the surrounding community, ensuring everyone has access to essential medical care.
